In the autumn of 2007, a guy saw a girl on the NYC subway. He fell in love, but did not get a chance to meet her. He put up a website to seek her out, NYGirlOfMyDreams.com, and it became a brief internet sensation (as detailed here).

The couple finally did meet and enjoyed their 15 minutes of fame.
Inspired by this, a parody site was created, NYGirlOfMyNightmares.com
