Our third largest export to China …

… is our Garbage.

It is apparently much cheaper to put our garbage on a boat and send it to China than to deal with it here. It’s a nifty way to circumvent the environmental regulations we have. They’ll burn things that we won’t.

AnotherĀ  article about it here.

Bloodsport!

The movie “Bloodsport” is definitely somewhere in my pantheon of fun 80’s movies. Jean Claude Van Damme notwithstadning, it’s quite an enjoyable journey into a secretive underworld. The tournament is populated by a motley crew of martial artists, most notably the evil Chong Li (”I will break you”). Trailer here.
FYI, Chong Li is not to be confused with Chun Li.

Norman Mailer

Norman Mailer died, and a new story about it began with the following:

“Norman Mailer, the macho prince of American letters …”

I can only hope I am one day referred to as the Macho Prince of American Letters.
