Hyperbole Watch

Newly elected muslim congressman Keith Ellison wants to be sworn in using the Koran instead of the Bible, for obvious reasons. This has caused quite the uproar in some circles.
From the Article:

"When all elected officials take their oaths of office with their hands on the very same book, they all affirm that some unifying value system underlies American civilization. If Keith Ellison is allowed to change that, he will be doing more damage to the unity of America and to the value system that has formed this country than the terrorists of 9/11.

Robocalls

The Republican Party has been hitting voters in key districts with automatic telephone calls (”Robocalls” or “Spam”) that mislead the listener into thinking the call is coming from Democrats. They call the same people over and over again, sometimes in the middle of the night. It is meant to get these voters pissed off at the local Democratic candidate. I begrudgingly tip my hat to the ingenious jerk who thought up this idea, but it is still disgusting. Link here.

“We may not be the biggest or the healthiest or the best educated, but we always did have one thing no other place did. We knew soccer was bullshit.”
